Questions about Richland County criminal records should go to the government office that holds the requested file. This private site cannot accept a records request or issue a document. The contacts below route sheriff reports and FOIA requests to Richland County Sheriff's Department, General Sessions papers to the Clerk of Court, and statewide criminal-history checks to SLED.

This Is Not a Government Office. This private reference site cannot retrieve or correct criminal records, conduct an official check, or receive a South Carolina expungement filing. Contact the responsible public office directly.

Need an Official Record?

Use the custodian that matches the Richland County record:

  • Sheriff reports: contact RCSD Records at 5623 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC 29223, or call 803-576-3000; routine report-copy hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
  • RCSD FOIA requests: mail or deliver a written request to the same headquarters, or email foiarequest@rcsd.net; in-person FOIA hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays
  • General Sessions files: contact the Clerk's Criminal Records office, fourth floor, Richland County Judicial Center, 1701 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201, at 803-576-1950; confirm current counter hours before visiting.
  • State criminal-history reports: request a South Carolina name-based check from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division through SLED CATCH
  • Booking and custody information: contact Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, 201 John Mark Dial Drive, Columbia, SC 29209, at 803-576-3200; office hours are Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Expungement: call the Fifth Judicial Circuit Solicitor's expungement line at 803-576-1620 for a Richland County General Sessions matter

RCSD and the Clerk of Court are separate custodians. A sheriff incident report does not replace the filed court disposition, and General Sessions does not provide a complete statewide background check or maintain every Summary Court charge.
